Nonprofit Portfolio Students and Alumni Cooking Class at the Sustainable Food Center

Get out of your vegetable rut and discover a world of possibilities!

In this class we’ll unlock the flavors of roots, shoots, tubers and flowers using seasonal and locally grown produce from the Farmers’ Market. Join current and former nonprofit portfolio students at the Sustainable Food Center for a class on cooking vegetables, on March 27th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. It's a chance to get to know a local nonprofit and your peers. 

We’ll also review:

  • Essential utensils, pots & pans for vegetable cookery
  • Choosing, handling and storing fresh vegetables
  • Three basic cooking methods: sauté, steam, and roast


  • The entire class will be active, so please eat beforehand.
  • Class price is $35.
